Linda Yoshiko (Maloof) Lafitt, 81 of Derry, NH died Wednesday January 28, 2015 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. Mrs. Lafitt was born in Ashiya, Japan on January 5, 1934. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 26, after meeting her first husband, William Maloof, while he was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Mrs. Lafitt has been a resident of Derry since 2006, formerly living in Moultonboro, NH, Andover, MA, Lowell, MA and Oceanside CA. She worked as a nurse’s aide for the Christian Hill Nursing Home in Lowell. In more recent years she volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program in Derry. Linda loved the mountains and the ocean. She especially loved her cats and dogs and held a special bond with each one.
She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Maloof and his wife Doreen of Lowell, and John Maloof and his wife Lauren of Derry, her stepdaughter, Donna Van Buskirk of Lawrence, MA, her grandchildren, Kerianne Maloof, Billy Maloof, Julia Maloof, Brenton Van Buskirk, Nicholas Van Buskirk, Zackary Lafitt and Justin Lafitt. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Maloof in 1981, her second husband, Roger Lafitt in 2006, and by her stepson, Dean Lafitt in 2012.
