Thomas J. Flynn Jr., a 2 year resident of Tewksbury and former 37 year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was 63 years old.
Tom was born in Everett on June 29, 1951, a son of the late Thomas J. Flynn and Agnes E. (Murphy) Flynn. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales parochial school and later graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1969. Tom worked for Verizon for 30 years as a technician. Following his retirement from Verizon, Tom went to work at Tufts University for 8 years. Tom was a member of the IBEW Local #2222. Tom was also a member of the Rowdy Bowling League for 22 years.
Tom is the beloved husband of 42 years to Chickie Ethel (Hutchings) Flynn. He is the devoted father of Melanie Flynn of North Andover, Christopher Flynn and his wife Carey of North Reading, and Jeannine Flynn of Tewksbury. He is the dear Papa to Brayden. Tom is the beloved Brother of Charlene Allwood of Revere, and Edward Flynn and his wife Nancy of Charleston, SC. He is the loving Brother-in-law of Mary and Gerald Dupuis, John Hutchings, Paul and Jeri Hutchings, Thomas and Barbara Hutchings, Susan and Thomas Talbot, Barry Hutchings, and Laura and Ed Simone. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tom was the dear friend of Jack and Deborah Enos.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's Funeral on Wednesday February 4, 2015 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday February 3, 2015 from 2 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
