Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Hogan) Hamlin, 86, of Worcester died Tuesday, January 27th in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus. Her husband of 40 years, Leo L. Hamlin, Jr. died in 2012. She leaves her stepson, Alan S. Hamlin of Long Beach, CA.
She was born in Newark, New Jersey the daughter of Edward and Catherine Hogan. Betty graduated from the former High School of Commerce and Becker College. She worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Paul V. O'Leary for 40 years. Mrs. Hamlin was a faithful parishioner of St. Anne's Church in Shrewsbury, the former St. Margaret Mary Church and most recently at Notre Dame du Lac where she has resided for the past two years.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd with a Mass at 10:30 AM at Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation Street to celebrate Betty's life. Burial will be private in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605 or to St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
