Michael Arruda. Age 87. Husband of the late Josephine (Lema) Arruda. Residence 138 Fourth St., Somerset,Ma. Died Monday at home. Born in Fall River, Ma. Son of the late Antone Arruda and the late Maria (Arruda) Arruda. He was a Somerset resident for 80 years. Before retiring, he worked in Maintenance at Brown University for 11 years. Previously, he was a self-employed Barber. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. John of God Church
He is survived by Two Sons: John E. Arruda of Taunton, Ma. and Michael Arruda, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. One Daughter: Kathleen M. Arruda of Somerset, Ma. One Sister: Irene Arruda of Somerset, Ma. Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Mary Costa.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. Wednesday at 8:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave.Somerset, Ma. at 9:00 AM. Internment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset, Ma. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 P.M.
