Phyllis A. Handy (Gould) age 60 of Sharon passed away January 26th. Phyllis grew up in Sharon and attended Sharon Public Schools. Phyllis was a retired Harness Driver and Horse Trainer. She raced for many years at the Foxboro Raceway, she traveled extensively as a driver and trainer, having worked and lived in New Jersey and Florida. After retiring from the racetrack, Phyllis co-owned a farm. She loved working with all animals. Phyllis previously resided in Newburyport, Foxboro, Bridgewater and Wareham. She was an avid writer and reader. She was a former member of The Horsemen’s Association, and the Sharon Country Club. Beloved daughter of Phyllis (Jubett) & the late Leon Gould of Sharon. Loving sister of Larry Gould of Sharon, Kenneth Gould & his wife Nancy of CA and Stephanie Linnehan & her husband Daniel of Foxboro.. Also survived by four nephews, her former husband David Handy of Bridgewater, and many relatives & friends. Visiting hours at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St., Canton Mon 5-8 pm. Relatives & friends respectively invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church Sharon, Tues morning at 11. Burial Rock Ridge Cemetery , Sharon. If friends wish, donations in Phyllis’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
