Worcester – Verne W. Tolman, 84, of Worcester, died on Monday, January 26th in Saint Vincent Hospital.
Verne was married for 53 years to Marie J. (Millette) Tolman, who died in 2003. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Kenney and her husband Dave of Worcester; two sons, Michael Tolman and his wife Linda of Millbury and Mathew Tolman and his wife Kelly of North Brookfield; 4 brothers, Richard of Lempster, NH, Robert of Leicester, John of Florida and Wayne of New Mexico; 7 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces, especially Ann Ortiz of whom Verne looked at as another daughter.
Mr. Tolman was born in Jaffrey, NH son of the late Richard A. and Rose Marie (Guilaume) Tolman and is also predeceased by a brother, Albert and two sisters, Pauline Banfill and Marie Zollo.
He proudly served the United States of America in the Navy and was the owner and operator of Tolman Insulation Company for many years. Verne was also a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus Pope John Council.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 30th at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions in memory of Verne may be made to the American Lung Association 460 Totten Pond Road #400 Waltham, MA 02451.
