Mr. Frank J. Tricone, age 88, of Woburn passed away January 25th, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy D. (LeBlanc) together they shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Waltham he was the son of the late Joseph and Emiste (Mazzuoli) Tricone.
Frank was raised and educated in Watertown and was a 1944 graduate of Watertown High School. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served during WWII from 1944 to 1946. When he returned home he began his studies at Northeastern University and graduated with his B.S. degree in engineering. He worked for many years at Raytheon where he was a Senior Quality Control Engineer. He retired in 1992. Following retirement Frank and Dorothy enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida and had many good times with friends and family. In his leisure time frank enjoyed bowling, he was an avid golfer and a member of the Woburn Country Club. He was also a member of the Wakefield Sons of Italy Club. His greatest joy was his family and he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a tremendous cook and especially looked forward to the holidays and times when the family would be together and sharing a delicious home cooked feast.
In addition to his beloved wife Dorothy, Frank is survived by his children; Diane Fitzgerald and her husband Marc of Dracut, Linda Summa and her husband Frank of Methuen, Donna Tricone and her companion John Cronin of Woburn. He was the loving grandfather of Tanya, Frankie, Anthony and his wife Valarie, Ashley, Michael, Jimmy and Steven. Loving great grandfather of Kendra and is also survived by many cherished extended family members.
A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, Saturday, February 7th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Frank's memory to the American Lung Assoc., 55 W. Wacker Dr., Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
