Obituary

Raymond N. Nadeau, 89, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 23, 2015 at home. He was the beloved husband of Shirley M (Bourgeois) Nadeau for sixty eight years. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Aglae (Laprise) Nadeau. Ray lived in Woonsocket for 34 years before moving to Lincoln 55 years ago. He worked for the Tupperware Co. as a machinist for seventeen years before retiring in 1985. Ray served in the US Army during WWII. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a man who helped his neighbors whenever he could. He was a loving and committed husband, son, father, and brother. He was a very active man who loved to make and fix things. In his youth he enjoyed bike riding, photography, and scuba diving.
Besides his wife he leaves two sisters, Lena Dennault of New Hampshire, and Florence Gelinas of Woonsocket. He was one of 17 children and had a large extended family. He is also survived by his daughter, Nancy A Nadeau, granddaughter, Kristi M Martel Riskalla, and a great-granddaughter, Magdelena Rose Martel Riskalla.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier
Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Ambrose Church, School St. in Albion. Burial will be in St Ambrose Cemetery.
