Manuel C. Farias, age 101, passed away January 22, 2015. He was the husband of the late Marianne (Almeida Machado) Farias and son of the late John Carvalho Farias and Ambrosina (Mello) Farias. Born in Fall River, he had been employed as a counterman at Oil Heating Equipment Inc. He was a WWII US Navy veteran serving in the Seabees.
Manuel was the father of Anne Cannon (husband Frank) of Garner, NC, Jeff Farias (wife June) of Andover, KS, Judy Trasko (husband Darrell) of Westford, MA, and Rick Farias (wife Janet) of Mansfield; brother of Joseph Farias of Fitchburg and the late Mary Medeiros. He leaves 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 P.M.
