Obituary

Fernand O. Godfrin 90, of East School St. died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Germaine (Gervais) Godfrin for sixty two years. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Henri and Beatrice (Proulx) Godfrin. Mr. Godfrin worked for the Woonsocket Housing Authority for eighteen years retiring in 1989. He had previously worked for the former Curtis and Marble in Worcester for twenty years. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. Fernand was a life member of the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks # 850, a member of the St. Joseph Veterans Association, the American Legion #85 and the VFW Post #7.

He is survived by his sons Ronald Godfrin and his partner Ron Bernier and Henri Godfrin and his wife Carol all of Woonsocket; a daughter Denise Boulet and her husband Don of Eaton, NH; two brothers Paul Godfrin of N. Smithfield, and Raymond Godfrin of Olympia, WA; a sister Madeleine Galien of Grants Pass, OR; five grandchildren Lisa Godfrin, Michael Godfrin and his wife Sheri, Carl Godfrin and his wife Angie, Brian Boulet and his wife Allison and David Boulet, six great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. He was also the brother of the late Marcel Godfrin and Suzanne Tellier.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks #850, 380 Social St. Woonsocket, RI 02895 in his memory would be appreciated.
