James N. Tortorello,age 73, formerly of Cambridge St, Worcester, died after a short illness on Saturday January 24 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA. James was born in Worcester on January 22, 1942 , the sixth child of Rocco and Louise (Tardibono) Tortorello. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers George, Michael and Rocco and beloved sister, Rose. He leaves behind his brothers MSgt Emanuele Tortorello (USAF Ret) of Washington state and Nicholas D. Tortorello and his wife, Kathleen Baker of Brewster, MA. He also leaves nephews Matthew, Nicholas and Michael and niece Cara and her companion Roman Edwards and great-nephew, Joshua.
James graduated from Commerce High School, served and was honorably discharged from the US Air Force and was a member of the Workshop Program at Seven Hills Foundation. He was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel- St Ann Church, enjoyed attending the New England Summer National car shows in Green Hill Park with his nephew Matthew, dining out and visiting brother Nick's family on Cape Cod with his sister, Rose.
A Visiting Hour will be held on Monday, February 2 from 10 to 11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in Callahan Fay and Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus - St Catherine Church, 600 Cambridge St, Worcester, MA 01610.
