TEWKSBURY - Robert R. Major, age 55, an avid sportsman and outdoors man, died
unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 26, at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was the
husband of Marie L. (Connolly-Gath) Major, with whom he had celebrated a 12th wedding
anniversary this past Feb. 14th.
He was born in Manchester, NH, Oct. 4, 1949, a son of the late Louis J. and Rachel (Gelinas)
Major. He was raised in Manchester, and attended the West End Memorial High School. He
lived in Dracut, Lowell and Nashua, NH, before moving to Tewksbury Center five years ago.
He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for Precise Industries in Lowell.
He was an avid outdoors man, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Kyle Major of Manchester, NH; two step-daughters,
Lisa and her husband Kevin Frontain of Tewksbury, Donna and her husband Robert Rocco of
Lunenburg; a sister, Simone Major of Rochester, NH; seven grandchildren, Cody, Zachery,
Katelyn, Lauren and Lindsey Frontain, Brody and Faith Rocco; several nieces and nephews; and a grand niece..
He was also brother of the late Roland Major.
His funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 30, in the funeral home. Burial was in Tewksbury
Cemetery. Memorials to the Cornelia deLange Syndrome Foundation, 302 West Main St. #100,
