Nellie Ruth "Nell" Stephens Norman, 65, of Tifton died on Friday, January 23, 2015, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Steve Luke officiating. Mrs. Norman will be laid to rest at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Shaun Kirkland, Joshua Conner, Tyler McCranie, Jordan Weaver, Josh Barfield and Timothy Hall will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Stone and Ryan Sharman.
Mrs. Norman was born on November 26, 1949 in Walton County and was the daughter of Volley Edgar Stephens and Georgia Cravey Stephens, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Raffield and Lillie Mae Stephens; and a great-grandson, Cason Conner. She was a tag operator for the Tift County Sheriff’s Department and of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful wife and mother and loved to take local trips, flea markets and yard sales.
Mrs. Norman is survived by her husband, Darrell E. Norman of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Ritchie D. and Kimberly Conner of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Stacey R. Revels and Shanna D. and Shaun Kirkland, all of Tifton; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Alton and Linda Stephens of Abbeville, Ray and Barbara Stephens of Newnan, Bill Stephens of Barnesville, Walt Stephens of Griffin and Richard Stephens of Abbeville; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Buddy McNeal of Sharpsburg; nine grandchildren, Nicole Conner, Joshua Conner, Lacey Hall, Timothy Hall, Scottie Weaver, Jordan Weaver, Tyler McCranie, Jade Kirkland and Brooklyn Kirkland; four great-grandchildren, Mason Hall, Adalyn Martin, Brilyn Greene and Penelope Hall; and many nieces and nephews.
