Mary Posey Young, 65, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday January 23, 2015 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Pastor Kenny W. Griffin, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Young was born May 20, 1949, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Leroy and Wilma Dorminy Posey. She had lived in the community for over 40 years and was an outreach worker with Sunnydale Training Center, in Ocilla, and the Jessamine Place, in Fitzgerald. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and taking care of her grandbabies. She was a member of Life Church in Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years: Bruce Young of Fitzgerald; her children: Brian Young of Fitzgerald and Tammy Young of Fitzgerald; four grandchildren: Austin Young, Chandler Young, Miley Grace Young and Bryson Gaines; two brothers: Danny & Norma Posey of Vienna and Eddie & Janice Posey of Tifton and a sister: Sue P. & Brad Tanner of Leesburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Ronnie Posey.
