Edward Lewis Ryder
Sept. 19, 1942 - Jan. 21, 2015

Edward Lewis Ryder, 72, of Anderson died January 21, 2015 at Community Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born September 19, 1942 in Marion, IN to Lewis Edward and Mary (Traylor) Ryder.

He served as a Marion Police Officer in late 1960's. He moved to Anderson 20 years ago, and had worked at Meijer, Modern Trailer Sales and Payless.

He enjoyed camping, campfires and I.U. Basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Deborah (St. John) Ryder of Anderson whom he married October 12, 1991; three children, Kim, Mike and Chrissy; brother, Tim (Lupe) Ryder and their son Chris; sister, Nancy (Ed) Hardin and their son, Eddie; brother-in-law, Dan (Pam) St. John; several grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many special "Camping Family" and "Postal Family" friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents; his sister, Sally Long; and his in-laws, Jack & Loretta St. John.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Community Hospital for their compassionate care of Edward.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Jamie Woodyard officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the Salvation Army, 1615 Meridian Street; Anderson, IN 46016 or Animal Protection League; 613 Dewey Street; Anderson, IN 46016.
