Obituary

LEICESTER: Kathleen A. (Bigott) Haley, 71, of Pine Avenue died Tuesday, Jan. 20 in her home after being stricken ill.

Her husband of 50 years, Stephen E. Haley died Aug. 30, 2014. She leaves her son Steven E. Haley and his wife Maureen of Barre, three daughters Heather-Lyn A. Haley and her partner Glen Harris of Worcester, Hilarie J. Haley of Leicester and Heidi E. Young and her husband Kevin of Sturbridge, four sisters, Eleanor Corneau and her husband Robert of Worcester, Louise Thomas of Fitchburg, Maureen Butts and her husband Paul of Spencer, and Patricia Cormier and her husband Michael of Auburn, her sister in law Deborah Richardson and her husband William of Boylston, seven grandchildren Alisha Zimmerman, Jacob Young, Bridget Haley, Edward Haley, Madeline Haley, Brooke Haley & Fiona Haley, three great-grandchildren Zachary, Zander & Zavier Zimmerman, many nieces and nephews.

Kathy was an insurance representative at Braley-Wellington Insurance in Worcester for many years, retiring in 2012. Previously, she worked at McKenna Insurance in Leicester.

Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Edward and Eleanor (McKenna) Bigott. She later graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester, and was a member of St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and “everyone loved her as MiMi”.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 23 from 5 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Y.O.U. Inc., Development Dept., 81 Plantation St., Worcester, Ma., 01604.
