Joseph H. Ouellette, age 87 of Methuen passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in the company of family. Joseph was born on November 25, 1927 in Lawrence to the late Xavier and Georgianna (DesRosiers) Ouellette. In addition to a long career at AVCO/Textron, Joseph served his country as a radio operator in the United States Coast Guard and was a long time parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa’s Parish of Methuen. Joseph was a skilled golfer and member of Hoodkroft Country Club in Derry, NH. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family.
Joseph was the loving husband of the late Rita (Roy) Ouellette with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. He was the devoted stepfather of the late Rosemary Dwyer and father of David Ouellette of Newburyport and Jo-Ann Pelczar of Haverhill, wife of Robert Pelczar. Joseph was the dear brother of Tina Zekis and to his late siblings Elise Bolduc, Phillip, Alice Simard, Eva LeDuc, Emile, Rose Novak, Oliva Pelletier, Marie Bergeron and Germaine Demars. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of Matthew Ouellette, Lucien Ouellette, Camille Ouellette, Ryan Pelczar and Kathryn Pelczar.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa’s Parish of Methuen. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
