Obituary

WORCESTER-Robert H. Mandella, 78, of 16 Farmington Street, died Thursday, December 23rd in Saint Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Alice C. (Auger) Mandella, a son, Robert J. Mandella of Worcester, 3 daughters, Mary F. wife of Michael Andersen of Charlton, Janice M. wife of Martin E. Stolz of Oxford and Regina C. wife of Austin J. Jordan of Shrewsbury, 3 sisters, Evelyn Paine, Rita Ritacco and Rose Chiancola all of Worcester, 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Amy and Todd Andersen all of Charlton, Alyson and Rebekah Stolz both of Oxford and Austin Junior “A.J.”, Justin and Jaclyn Jordan all of Shrewsbury, many nephews and nieces. 3 brothers, Paul, Alfred and George Mandella predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Anthony and Mary F. (DeFalco) Mandella and graduated from South High School in 1944. He was a WWII Army veteran and obtained a degree in business from Becker College. Mr. Mandella worked for the Melville Corporation for many years until his retirement. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Robert’s life was centered on his loving family to whom he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

The funeral is Monday, December 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the National Kidney Foundation, 11 Vanderbilt Avenue, Suite 105, Norwood, MA, 02062.
