Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Rocha, age 48, of Fairhaven, passed away January 3, 2015. Bobby was the loving son and best friend of his parents Joseph and Florence (Haslam) Rocha and a lifelong resident of Fairhaven. He was a member of The First Congregational Church of Fairhaven.
He is survived by his siblings, Rebecca Hibbard and her husband George of Fairhaven and brother, William and his wife Maureen of Lakeville. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Eryn, William Jr., Shaun, Timothy, Bethany, Matthew, and grandniece, Callie Barbero. He was the uncle of the late Adam T. Barbero. Bobby was very proud of his nieces and nephews, each holding a special place in his heart.
Bobby graduated from Fairhaven High School, where he established his "Rocha on Wrestling" segment seen on Fairhaven-Acushnet Cable. His love for professional wrestling never waned as he attended many wrestling events and was an avid TV viewer of all wrestling shows. He often expressed his fond memories of attending live wrestling events with his dad.
Bobby loved his sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pitt Panthers and Boston Bruins. He also enjoyed Fantasy Football Leagues and watching Dancing with the Stars. He was a Rochester Golf Club Class C Champion and recorded a Hole-in-One at that same course. He also participated in many Miniature Golf Events and Tournaments. Bobby had a fondness for cats, especially his longtime cat Snowball.
Bobby was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for better than 25 years as bridge tender on the Fairhaven and Brightman Street Bridges. More recently, he worked at Mattapoisett Truck Repair.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at The First Congregational Church of Fairhaven, 34 Center St., Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial services will be private.
