Obituary

Gilbert E. Goding, 83, of Raymond, NH passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 12, 1931 in S. Portland, ME, a son of the late Wilfred and Zerfa (Swan) Goding. Gil was a long time Londonderry, NH resident, prior to moving to Raymond. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. He worked for Boston and Maine Railroad for over 42 years, retiring from Sales and Marketing in May 1996. After his retirement the focus of his life was spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren who all knew him affectionately as " Papa ".
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Joan (Leonard) Goding of Raymond, three sons, Stephen Goding and his wife Rossana of Raymond, Scott Goding and his wife Amy of Londonderry, and Shawn Goding and his wife Pam of Londonderry, seven grandchildren, Michael, Zachary, Morgan, Paul, Laurel, Trevor and Tess; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 11am – 2:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with a memorial service to begin at 2:00pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
