Obituary

Worcester – Donald F. Finnegan Sr., 78, of Worcester, died peacefully after a long illness at home with his Life Partner of 40 years, Janet White, by his side on Sunday, January 18th.

Don was born in Boston, son of the late Thomas and Olga (Cummings) Finnegan. He owned and operated Reliable Maintenance and Carpet Cleaners for over 25 years. Mr. Finnegan was a longtime member of the Worcester County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, and he was the recipient of this year’s Judy Wilkinson Award. He also belonged to the Ancient Order of the Hibernians Division 36 and was named the Hibernian of the year in 2014.

Mr. Finnegan is survived by his children, William and and his wife Deborah Finnegan of Worcester, Donald F. Finnegan Jr. of Webster, Eva Marie Beauregard of Southbridge, Kellie Michaildis of Charlton, and Deborah Kent of Worcester; his step children, William White and his wife Stacy of Douglas and Ronald White of Marietta, PA; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Finnegan of Crestline, CA; a sister, Debora Nigro and her husband Alfred as well as many nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 21st from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 20th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home 12 Hammond St. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Don to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade PO Box 20708 Worcester, MA 01602.
