Mollie L. (Tripp) Palmer of Framingham passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham. She was ninety three years old.

Mollie T. Palmer was the eighth child of the Rev. Henry Tripp and Neda (Smaw) Tripp. She was born on June 6, 1921 in Chocowinity, North Carolina and was baptized at the St. James CM Church where her father served as a supply minister.
She attended school in North Carolina and graduated from Washington, North Carolina High School after which she attended college in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In 1942, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and joined Roberts Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked for the War Department at the Pentagon Library branch in Washington, D.C.
In 1945, she married Alonzo Palmer and they moved to Boston, Massachusetts then to Framingham, Massachusetts where they became members of the Park Street Church.
She attended Florence Alt switchboard and receptionist school in Boston and graduated in 1954. After her husband’s death in 1959, she moved to Jamaica, New York and attended Queens College and completed studies there.
She worked for the New York State Department of Social Work and operated a family house for adults. Mollie joined the First Reformed Church of Jamaica and became an active member and served on the property committee and the worship committee.
She was a member of the International Kings, Daughters and Sons Circle and a member of Save the Children Federation and served as Chaplin of the Queens branch of Long Island, New York.
Mollie leaves to cherish her memories a large family of nieces, nephews and a host of very dear friends.

A celebration of Mollie’s life will be held at a later date in Maryland and she will be laid to rest along side her husband Alonzo in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
