Obituary

Griffith, Graham Leslie of Wellesley Hills, MA, 70, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2015. He was born in Raby Village, England and emigrated to the United States in 1968. A lifelong history buff, Graham spent his career as a newspaperman at The Boston Globe, where at one time or another he was an editor on the Foreign, Local and Photo desks and, for most of his 34 years with the Globe, section editor of the Arts & Features pages. In his retirement, he audited Native American courses at Wellesley College and read extensively in Colonial history. In 2009 he wrote and published a historical fiction novel, "Niantic Jewel". He and his wife of 41 years divided their time between Wellesley Hills and a beach cottage in Charlestown, Rhode Island.

He was predeceased by his parents Elsie Sisson Griffith and Leslie Edward Griffith, his sister Anne Griffith Hoare, and his brother Edward Griffith. He is survived by his wife Linda Low Griffith, his son Christopher Griffith and his husband Mark, his daughter Jennifer (Griffith) Ouzounian and her husband Robert, his grandson Zachary Ouzounian, eight nephews, two nieces, and other extended family.

Funeral service in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. Wellesley, Monday January 19, at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Graham's memory may be made to The Voice and Speech Laboratory at Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary, 243 Charles Street, Boston, MA 02114.
