Timson --- Marie Klein "Polly", Of Pocasset and formerly of Belmont and Chestnut Hill died peacefully on January 13 at the McCarthy Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Dr. William Timson, for 50 years. Daughter of Rear Admiral Grover Cleveland Klein and Marie Ross Klein. Leaves her five children, Anne Timson of Sandwich, Mary Griffin of Mansfield, Christopher Timson of Walpole, Margie Mikulskis of West Roxbury and Jean DiBartolomeo of Hanover as well as 11 grandchildren.
Polly was educated at Newton Country Day School, Manhattanville College, followed by a Master’s Degree from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work (’48). Polly was a case worker at Catholic Charities where she found loving adoptive homes for hundreds of babies. She was a long time member of the Children of Mary at Newton Country Day School. Polly loved to swim and spend summers on the Cape with her family, and enjoyed watching her children and late husband sail in Buzzards Bay. Polly passed down to her children her strong Catholic faith and love for family.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting Hours in the funeral home Saturday morning beginning at 9:00am.
Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
