Obituary

WAYLAND: Hunt Collyer Davis, 61, of Wayland died peacefully on January 8, 2015 after a brave struggle with Parkinson’s disease which began in the 1980’s and lasted for more two decades.
He was born in Boston on August 18, 1953 the son of Joanne (Wilder) Davis of Wayland and the late Dr. Luther Davis, Jr.
Hunt was a graduate of The Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge. He attended Oberlin College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University in Waltham where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received a degree in city planning from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He worked as a city planner for more that fifteen years at the New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Also, for a brief time, he held a similar position with the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac).
Besides his mother, he leaves a sister Nancy Davis and her husband Stuart A. McCrary of Winnetka, IL and Mark W. Davis and his wife Raina Davis of Lexington. He also leaves five nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road, Wayland.
Private family interment was held in the Davis family lot in South Cemetery in Wayland.
