Phyllis Jean (Haas) Fox

Phyllis Jean (Haas) Fox wend home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015.

She was born December 7, 1922 in Alexandria, IN where her family settled nearly a century ago. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Etta (Gray) Haas and a 1940 graduate of Alexandria High School. She and her husband lived in Anderson, IN for 60 years prior to moving to Hilliard, OH in 2001 to be closer to family.

She was married April 13, 1941 to W. Shirell Fox and spent nine years with the Madison County Department of Public Welfare as chief clerk stenographer. On two occasions, she was interim chief accountant.

For 20 years, until 1990 retirement, she was secretary to Dr. James Williams and other executives in the Division of World Service of the Church of God. After retirement, she was active with a local travel agency.

Mrs. Fox served as president of the Anderson Lady Lions Club; a 50 year member of Alexandria Eastern Star and on the board of directors of the YWCA. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson, IN over 50 years.

Survivors are daughter, Beth Anne Brown (husband Robert) of Wenatchee, WA; son, Stephen L. Fox (wife Clella) of Hilliard, OH; five grandchildren, Traci Fox Osborne (husband Brian) of Galloway, OH; Krista Fox May (husband Jeramy) of Hilliard, OH; Alissa Stahly Meeks-Small (husband Ross),Temple, TX; Greg Stahly (wife Brooke), Wenatchee, WA and Julie Stahly Morris (husband, Willie), Midland, TX; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, William Haas, Jr.; Casper G. Haas and Frederick Haas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 3:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with burial to follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Darby Glenn Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Hilliard, OH for the wonderful care provided during her stay following hip surgery in October 2013.
