Elizabeth (Simone) Regis, 92, of New Bedford died January 12, 2015 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility.
She was the wife of George P. Regis.
Born in Corry, PA, the daughter of the late Alphonso and Asunta (Benigno) Simone, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Regis was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She was formerly employed as a tax consultant.
She enjoyed travel, bowling and trips to Foxwoods.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James Hoesterey of Westport; a daughter, Jeanne Desrosiers and her husband Leo of Beverly Hills, FL; a step-son, George Regis, Jr. of Acushnet; 3 step-daughters, Ann Marshall and her husband Robert of Lakeville, Jane Zexter and her husband Alan of Dartmouth and Susan Gibson and her husband Dean of Columbus, Ohio; 2 sisters, Rosie McCullough and Gloria Simone, both of New Jersey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the step-mother of the late Kathleen Tiernan.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 PM.
