FREETOWN - Lola Scott French, 93, wife of the late Fred French, went home to be with the Lord on Jan 7 after a brief illness. She was born Feb 13, 1921 in New Bedford, daughter of Alton and Alice (Bettencourt) Scott. She lived in Lakeville for over 60 years and moved to Florida in 2006. She was a graduate of The Kinyon School and was a bookkeeper.
She loved her family dearly and had a warm relationship with many friends. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Lola was a member of the East Freetown Congregational Christian Church (EFCCC) for over 50 years.
She is survived by a son, Larry and wife Betty of Sutton MA, a daughter, Nancy Skura and husband Stanley of St Petersburg FL, 3 grand-children, 7 great grand-children, a sister, Ella Clark of Acushnet, 2 half-sisters, Thelma Naftoly and June Holmes and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at the EFCCC, 4 Washburn Rd, E Freetown on Mon, Jan 26 at 7 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the EFCCC, P.O. Box 825, E Freetown, MA 02717.
