FRAMINGHAM: Charles W. “Chuck” Rutherford, 61, died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham after being stricken at his residence in Framingham earlier in the day.
He was born in Pulaski, Virginia the son of the late Ernest M. Rutherford and Esther C. (Connell) Rutherford.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Dawn R. (Houghton) Rutherford of Framingham formerly of Wayland. Devoted father of Craig E. Rutherford and Kayla L. Rutherford both of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Andrew and Emma Rutherford of Framingham. Brother of Teri Travaglini and her husband Lou Travaglini of Framingham. Son-in-law of Donald P. Houghton of Wayland. Brother-in-law of Dale C. McDevitt of Middleton, PA; David G. Houghton of Wayland and Dana C. Houghton and his wife Stacie Houghton of Sparks, NV. Also survived by 6 nieces and many friends.
Chuck has been a lifelong resident of Framingham and graduated from Framingham North High School with the Class of 1972. After graduation he attended art school in Boston. For over 32 years, he has been associated with State Road Auto Body of Wayland as an auto body technician. Among his many interests were motorcycles and his Harley which he enjoyed riding. Chuck also enjoyed music and was talented with his guitar and banjo. The most important aspect of Chuck’s life was his family especially the time spent with his children and grandchildren whom he adored. He will be missed by all of the people he met in his life.
Memorial Visitations will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Private family interment will be held at the Rutherford- Houghton family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland at a later date.
