Thomas Edward "Tom" Gary, 71, of Alexandria, died January 9, 2015 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born March 13, 1943 in Anderson to Frederick Dean and Velma Marie (Sheward) Gary.
He worked production for General Motors and farmed.
He was a member of the Elks; American Legion Post 408 and Amvets. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching NASCAR and Purdue Basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Becky A. (Mohler) Gary of Alexandria, whom he married June 6, 1962 at the Alexandria Baptist Church; three sons, Jeff (Michele) Gary of Austin, TX; Mark (Kasey) Gary of Anderson; Greg (Claudia) Gary of Lafayette; brother, Richard (Dixie) Gary of Anderson; Virginia Delph of Pendleton; twelve grandchildren: Jeffrey and Milla of Austin, TX; Brogan; Quincey; Brinkley; Quade and Ramsey all of Anderson; Gabrielle; Logan; Alexandra; Brooklyn and Nash all of Lafayette; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Norman Delph, Sr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George & Catherine Mohler; sister-in-law, Merlene Johnston.
Services will be 6 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jay Harvey of Pendleton Christian Church officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 6 P.M.
