Gerald L. Thomas, Sr., 90, of Westport died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Delia M. (Gagne) Thomas. Born in Brainard, MN, he was son of the late Ernest L. and Ethel (Edwardson) Thomas. Mr. Thomas served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was an officer with the Merchant Marines.
Including his wife, survivors include 4 sons: Robert P. Thomas of Westford, MA, Gerald L. Thomas, Jr. of Salinas, CA, Russell W. Thomas of New Bedford and Michael J. Thomas of NH; 3 daughters: Darleen J. Cink of Kerens, TX, Sheila A. Kenyon of Westport and Linda M. Trahan of Westport; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9 – 10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
