TAUNTON – Euclides DaVeiga of Taunton died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on January 5, 2015.
He was 73.
Born in Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Leao and Angela (Amelia) DaVeiga.
A retired maintenance man, he was employed by Providence College for many years.
In his spare time, Mr. DaVeiga enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Survivors include four sons, Tony L. DaVeiga, Jorge L. DaVeiga, Felisberto DaVeiga and Jose DaVeiga; a daughter, Graciete DaVeiga; four brothers, Joao, Alcides, Aquiles and Manuel O. DaVeiga; two sisters, Ana Maria Barbosa and Maria F. DaVeiga; many grandchildren, Darryl Furtado, Mathew Silva, Anthony Galvao, Cody Finnerty, Tyrese Miranda, Anthony Babilla, Kayline and Sandy Lopes, Zoey and Asiah DaVeiga, Felisberto DaVeiga, Jr., Devon DaVeiga, Monique A. and Dominique DaVeiga, Shina, Jorge, Andre and Joshua DaVeiga and Erik DePina Sheylla DaVeiga, Narrisa Babilla and Starlyne DaVeiga; five great grandchildren, Jaelynn F. Pereira, Jonas M. Guerrero, Jr., Layla I. Guerrero, Sophia S. and Nysi Rai Silva; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, January 13th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
