Reverend Kent Allen Fromer died peacefully at his home on 8 January 2015 after bravely battling cancer for the past six years. Kent was born 19 November 1969 in Burbank, California the son of Gary and Linda Fromer. Kent was a compassionate person who cared deeply about people from all walks of life. He loved a good joke, The Dodgers, The Mets, travel, music, and his beloved family.
Kent was a United Methodist Minister. He started serving as the youth director at North Glendale United Methodist Church (UMC) out of high school. Attended Azusa Pacific & Fuller seminary. Kent’s internship was at Hollywood First UMC. From there his first appointment was Laguna Beach UMC. His first appointment as an elder was Indio UMC. After Indio Kent took a sabbatical to Canada where he served two United Church of Christ’s. Upon his return to the United States he was appointed to Bardsdale UMC in Fillmore, where he has served as senior pastor for the past 10 years.
Kent was especially proud of his niece Alena Pagano and devoted himself to all aspects of her life. Kent is survived by his mother Linda Fromer, father Gary Fromer, brother Robert “Bobby” Fromer, sister Lynn Pagano and his partner Robert Burns.
A Celebration of Kent’s Life will be held on January 17th, 2015 at 1:30pm at the Hollywood First United Methodist Church, 6817 Franklin Avenue, Hollywood, California 90068. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, in memory of Rev. Kent Fromer for the continued research of Nueroblastoma, www.stjude.org.
