Albert Ainsworth, Jr., 87, of Westport, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2015 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Phyllis V. “Tillie” (Benson) Ainsworth.
Born in Providence, son of the late Albert Ainsworth, Sr. and Emma (Clayton) Ainsworth, he had been a longtime resident of Westport. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a jeweler and co-owned Masters of Design with his lifelong business partner, Thomas Packer. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Navy. A Master Mason for 64 years, he belonged to both the Ezekiel Bates Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Attleboro and the Noquochoke Lodge, A.F. &A.M. of Westport. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge of Attleboro # 1014. Mr. Ainsworth was an avid boater and sport fisherman, hunter and gardener. He loved dancing and skiing. He enjoyed traveling, and in his later years, was able to enjoy many trips to Grand Cayman. He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his 4 daughters: Pamela Bradford, Christine Earle and her husband Richard, Kimberly Ainsworth Mielbye and her husband Timothy and Melissa Ainsworth Boudria and her husband Ted, Jr.; all of Westport; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews including Charlotte Toddings, Michael and David McGinn.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Westport Point United Methodist Church, Westport Point, at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be private.
