Patricia A. "Patti" Harty, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at her home in Charlestown following a valiant and courageous 22 month battle with cancer. She was 57 years old.
Patti was born in Everett on December 16, 1957, a daughter of Robert J. Harty and Patricia A. (Ahern) Harty. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School, graduated from Pope John High School in Everett in 1975 and received her Associates Degree from Bunker Hill Community College. Patti has worked as a Office Manager for C.V. Starr Insurance Company in Boston for the last 8 years and the previous 20 years as a Insurance Agent for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in Boston. Patti enjoyed baking and vacationing at Hampton Beach in the summers and entertaining her many family and friends in her back yard. Patti is a member of the Daughters of Isabella # 1 of Charlestown.
Patti is the beloved daughter of Robert J. Harty and Patricia A. (Ahern) Harty. She is the devoted sister of Bob Harty and his wife Fran of Reading, Kevin Harty of Charlestown, Karen Harty of Charlestown, Maryhelen Whelan and her husband David of Charlestown, Eileen Harty of Charlestown and Elaine Collins and her husband Mark of Charlestown. She is the loving aunt to Robert, James, Aidan, John, Aisling and Courtney. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Patti's Funeral on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10:30 A.M. Her burial will be private. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
