Luongo, C. Paul Age 84, of Copley Square, Boston on January 7, 2015. His death came 51 years after his founding C. Paul Luongo Company, Press-Public Relations, Boston. "He is successful and in an over-crowded industry dominated by a few big agencies, that's something of a feat," reported the Wall Street Journal in a front page profile of him. "Luongo feels that selling reporters on stories is what PR is all about and feels confident doing this no matter what the subject," wrote Jack O'Dwyer in Jack O'Dwyer's Newsletter. 'His track record in handling clients bears this out." Agency clients included Federated Securities Corp., Pittsburgh, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., San Francisco, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Sullivan & Worcester, Boston, New York and Washington, D.C., Visible Genetics, Toronto, L. Roy Papp, Phoenix, Brookstone Co., Peterborough, N.H., Bingham Legg Advisers, Boston, The Newman School, Boston, and Legal Sea Foods, Boston. He also provided Pro Bono Public Relations Services to a number of local and national charitable organizations. AMERICA'S BEST! 100 was authored by C. Paul Luongo and documented AMERICA'S BEST! 100 Charismatic Goods and Services and was featured in Time, The New Yorker, and hundreds of print and broadcast media outlets throughout the United States and Canada. He was regularly featured on the NBC-TV Today Show and numerous network, local and regional TV-Radio shows. C. Paul was a Contributing Editor of Travel Smart and also a Contributing Columnist for the Boston Metro and The Boston Business Journal. C. Paul Luongo received his MBA degree from Babson College, and was a graduate of Suffolk University, Bentley College, and Graham Junior College, which awarded him an honorary degree. He also attended Harvard University and The Berklee College of Music. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. C. Paul Luongo was listed in Who's Who in America and was an active member of many professional, civic, and charitable organizations. He was born in Winchester, MA, the son of the late Carmela and Carmen Luongo and brother of Velina A. Gerard, Phyllis L. Sheehan, and Carolyn F. Luongo, all of Winchester. He leaves many good friends including Edward J. Sullivan, Anne L.C. Van Nostrand, Jeffrey LaCasse, Betty, Amos, and Ron Levin, Philip Kerrivan, Richard Fisher, and Janet Gentile. Burial will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Bourne, MA on January 14, at 2:45PM. Friends and family are invited to attend.
