Eleanor M. (Jones) Gately, age 87, of Brockton, went peacefully home to God, January 7, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Sheldon W. Gately. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late George P. and Grace (Clark) Jones. Eleanor was a stay at home mother who was devoted to raising and caring for her family. She adored her grandchildren, and enjoyed shopping, dining out, travel and Bingo.
Eleanor was the loving mother of Jean Gately of Brockton and Cindy Hagenbuch and her husband Glenn of Peterborough, NH; grandmother of Kelly, Kaitlyn, Kayleigh and Daniel Hagenbuch; and sister of Joyce Reardon of Florida and the late George F. “Buddy” Jones. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 3-6pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Christ the King’s St. Vincent de Paul Society, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
