Doris Vivolo of Medford died Tuesday, January 6, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Dino and Mary (Malvermi) Busi. Doris enjoyed traveling with her husband, Aurelio Vivolo, to Europe, including trips to France and Italy, and on a cruise to Alaska. She loved ballroom dancing with Aurelio, listening to big-band music, and told wonderful, detailed stories about the old days. Doris lived in Florida for 10 years before returning to Massachusetts and settling in Medford, where she lived for the past 15 years.
Doris was the devoted mother of Sandra Cody of Lee, NH and the late Stephen and baby Paul Vivolo. She was the cherished mother-in-law of Gail McDowell of Seabrook, NH, loving grandmother of Melissa and Ashley, and loving great grandmother of Giavannah. Doris was the sister of the late Lillian, Phyllis and Irene, and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, January 10 at 10AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 12 Properzi Way, Somerville, at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 through 8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
