Obituary

Lucienne A. Desrosiers, 94, of Manville died Tuesday morning at St. Antoine Residence after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Philias A. Desrosiers. They were married on February 23, 1946 and celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in February of 2014.
Born in Manville she was a daughter of the late Mastai and Fabiola (Noury) Laplante. She was a lifelong resident of Manville and lifelong communicant of St. James Parish.
Mrs. Desrosiers graduated from St. James School in 1935 and attended St. Clare Girls High School in Woonsocket. She was employed by American Tourister for many years.
Lucienne selflessly devoted many years to caring for her parents at home.
She will be remembered as an exemplary wife and mother whose life centered her family and church.
In addition to her husband of 68 years she is survived by a son Philip C. Desrosiers of Manville who cared for her at home for the past 12 years. She was the mother of the late Marc Desrosiers and sister of the late Rene and Armand Laplante, Bertha Brillon and Yvette Plante. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St. Manville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial in St. James Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7 pm.
