Madge T. Roberts, 89, of Ocilla, Georgia died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Heritage Care Assisted Living Home, in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church, in Irwin County, with Elder Travis Fussell officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Roberts was born February 5, 1925, in Irwin County, to the late Elijah and Mary Alice Griffin Tucker. She lived in the community all of her life and graduated from Ocilla High School and also attended South Georgia College in Douglas. Mrs. Roberts was a faithful employee of Ocilla Pharmacy for 62 years, where she enjoyed working and serving the community. She was a member of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son: Randy and his wife Charlene Roberts of Douglas and two granddaughters: Karen and Hannah Roberts; a step-sister: Mary Jim Roberts of Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Amon Randolph Roberts and nine brothers and sisters: Bessie Tucker Stripling, Eddie Tucker, Maxie Marie Tucker, infant Emory Tucker, Bertha Tucker, John L. Tucker, infant Georgia Wilmer Tucker, Robert Vinson Tucker and Fred Lewis Tucker.
