Obituary

Virginia E. (White) Garry, 71, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6th at home with her family by her side. She leaves a son, Michael Garry and his wife, Laurel of Woodstock, CT; two daughters, Cathleen Harrington of Leominster and Michelle Dwyer and her husband, Michael of Grafton; her longtime friend, Richard Haskins of West Boylston; a brother, John White and his wife, Paula of Hampton Beach, NH; a sister, Jeri Taronas and her husband, Mark of Paxton; six grandchildren, Colin and Mackenzie Garry, Haley and Kelsey Harrington, Michael and Juliet Dwyer; several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of John and Virginia (Stenmark) White. Virginia graduated from the former Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and received a Master’s Degree from Regis College. She was employed with the Worcester Public Health Department as a school nurse for many years. Up until her death she worked as a nurse practitioner for Arbour Counseling Services and Arbour Senior Care. Virginia will be remembered for her kindness and for always wanting to care for those in need. What was most important to her was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral is Friday, January 9th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, January 8th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 10 Hammond Street, Worcester, MA 01610 or to VNA Care Network & Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
