CHICOPEE – Odell M. “Sis” (Fredette) Foisy, 82, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, January 5, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on December 6, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Armand and Kathleen (McGale) Fredette. She was raised in Willimansett and graduated in 1950 from Chicopee High School. She lived in Willimansett until 1974 when she moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee. She was last employed as a secretary at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Rectory in Chicopee. She previously worked at the former A. G. Spalding Company. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a longtime communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality Guild of the church. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving son, Jeffrey T. Foisy who was Called Home on May 16, 2012. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Robert E. Foisy. They were married on May 30, 1958 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. Besides her husband, she also leaves her loving son, Steven M. Foisy and his wife, Diane, of Templeton, MA; her loving daughter-in-law, Marylee Foisy of West Springfield; her seven cherished grandchildren, Matthew Foisy and his wife, Anne-Marie, John Foisy and his wife, Shannon, Michael Foisy, David Foisy, Alyson Foisy, Evan Foisy and his wife, Felisha, and Nathan Foisy; her three cherished step-grandchildren, Gabriella, Arianna, and Carter; her loving brother, Armand R. Fredette and his wife, Augustine, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Foisy and Fredette families. Her family would like to give special thanks to Holly, Emily and Carlos for the loving care and attention they provided to Sis for the last several years of her life. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, January 10, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
