Obituary

ROCKPORT –Albert F. Lattof, Jr., 73, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Mary E. (Blanchard) Lattof.
Born on June 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Dorothy (Newman) Lattof. He was a graduate of the Rockport High School class of 1959 and the former Franklin Technical Institute.
He worked for many years as a mechanical design engineer in both Oregon and Massachusetts.
Al had coached Little League Baseball and served on its Board of Directors from the mid-1960’s to the early 2000’s in both Rockport and Oregon. He was a founding member of the Friends of Rockport Athletics and a former member of the Board of Directors for Cape Ann Youth Hockey. He was also a lifetime member of the Sandy Bay Brotherhood and member of the Cape Ann Chapter No. 1471 Loyal Order of Moose.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Timothy Lattof and his companion, Johanna Catania and Andrew and Crystal (Vecchione) Lattof; four grandchildren, Dylan Vecchione, Kaley, Ava and Evan Lattof; a sisters, Marilyn, wife of Ralph Sweet, Anne, wife of Kenneth Ryan, a brother, Joseph, husband of Paula Lattof, a sister-in-law, Carol Sidlowski and brother-in-law, David Blanchard, companion of Elke Schoen and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his son, Eric A. Lattof, his mother and father-in-law, Byron and Muriel (Bradley) Blanchard and two brothers-in-law, Peter Blanchard and James Sidlowski.
His funeral service will be on Thursday in the St. Joachim Church, Broadway, Rockport at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
