Obituary

Hemmer, John G, 98 of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born in Louisville to the late John G. Hemmer, Sr. and Elizabeth Wiebelm on December 19, 1916.

John’s long life was the embodiment of Christian values including hard work, high integrity, perseverance, compassion, discipline, loyalty and selfless service to others. His daily life example was an inspiration to all around him.

Prior to and during retirement, John volunteered his time and was treasurer to several organizations near and dear to his heart, including membership as a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky Free & Accepted Masons; a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; a member of the Kosair Shriners; and a member of the Supreme Council Order of the Amaranth.

His wife of 75 years, Louise Hemmer, and brother Charles E. Hemmer preceded John in death.

He is survived by his sister, Katheryn Elizabeth, his daughter, Toska Royall, his son, John D. Hemmer; three grandchildren, Michelle Royall, Todd Hemmer (Caryl), and Brent Royall (Melinda); and five great-grandchildren, Mia and Alex Royall and Daniel, Elizabeth and David Hemmer.
