Frank J. Tiernan, of Chelmsford, formerly of Methuen & Woburn, died unexpectedly in Lowell, at Lowell General Hospital on Friday January 2, 2015. Born in Boston, Frank was the devoted son of the late Julia A. (Taylor) & Francis J. Tiernan.
Frank was raised in Woburn with his four siblings and was a twin, with his brother Greg, whom he had a strong sibling bond with. He was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1969, and joined the United States Army soon after. Honorably serving till June, 1972.
Upon returning from serving his country, Frank graduated from Salem State College and worked his way to become a Manufacturing Manager with the Dolan Jenner Company of Woburn.
Frank was also a talented musician and had a wonderful voice; he was a pleasure to be around.
Frank was the father of Janet Quigg of Hingham. Brother of Gregory Tiernan of Westford, Stephany Tiernan of Woburn, June Black of NH and the late Maureen Tiernan Hyde. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
At his family’s request, Frank's funeral service will be private.
