Obituary

WORCESTER___Joseph J. Tauras, 89, of Dolly Dr., formerly of Millbury St., died Friday December 17 in Blaire House of Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Helen A. (Urevich) Tauras, a daughter, Marion M. Tauras of Worcester; a son, Joseph F. Tauras of Windham, NH; two sisters, Anne Gionet and Helen McDermott, both of Worcester; two grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Charles Tauras, Alexander J. Tauras and Mary Rouleau. He was born in Worcester, son of Alexander and Mary (Alukas) Tauras and has lived here all his life.
Mr. Tauras was a wire coater in the annealing dept. of National Standard Co., for many years and retired in 1980. He was educated in Worcester schools.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, the Lithuanian Social Club and he enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday Dec. 22 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday Dec. 22 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 3 Wiser Ave., Worcester, 01607, The Blaire House Activity Fund, 116 Houghton St., Worcester, 01604 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, 02140.
