Obituary

DANVERS: Jonathan E. “JJ” Johnson, 23, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 2, 2015 in Maine, where he was attending school. He was the beloved son of Gary A. and Brenda L. (Murphy) Johnson.
Born in Beverly on May 9, 1991, he was a lifelong resident of Danvers. He was a graduate of St. John’s Prep class of 2009. He was currently attending the University of Southern Maine, where he was one class away from receiving his B.S. degree in psychology and was double majoring in their B.S. nursing degree program. He loved working out and was an avid body builder his entire life.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Christopher A. Johnson; his sister, Lauren L. Johnson; maternal grandmother, Beryl Murphy; paternal grandparents, Walter and Judith Johnson; his loving girlfriend, Dannielle Mclean and her daughter, little Miss Lucy Mclean and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Interment will be held in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers.
