Elaine C. (Nylen) Alexander, age 70, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the South Shore Hospital on January 2, 2015.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband George “Bill” Alexander, 3 children, John D. Maki and his wife Sandy of Rockland, Sherry Maki of Abington and Bonnie Foster and her boyfriend, Joey of Margate, FL, and her sister Janice Deree and her husband Barney of East Weymouth and her brother, David Nylen and his wife Nancy of Lakeville. She also leaves her grandchildren, David and Kayla Maki of Rockland and Corey, April, Joelle and Brooke Puopolo of Abington and several nieces, 1 nephew and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband's two sisters, step children and step grandchildren.
Elaine was born and lived in Quincy and moved to East Weymouth in 1954 before moving to South Weymouth for the last 9 years. She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1963 before graduating from Mansfield Beauty Academy in Quincy and worked as a hairdresser in Columbian Sq. S. Weymouth.
She was devoted to her family and pets. In her younger years she enjoyed water skiing and horseback riding. In her later years she enjoyed vacationing in her home in New Hampshire, dancing, traveling and watching her favorite soap operas. She was a lifelong avid fan of Elvis Presley.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Friday, January 9 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday 4to8. PM.
