Sylvain Alien of Medford died Thursday, January 1, in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. Born in Haiti, he was the son of the late Richard and Alcie (Esperance) Alien. Sylvain was a farmer in Haiti before moving to the U.S. and settling in Medford 31 years ago.
He was the beloved husband of Augustine (Mardi) Alien, and devoted father of Marie, Clarence, and Girard Allien, all of Medford, Carlene Alien of Medford, Pierre Allien of Randolph, and Juliette Aurelus of Malden. Sylvain was the loving brother of Juliette Randolph of Medford, and uncle of Raymond Allien of Brockton, Suzette Toureau of Everett. He is also survived by many additional loving friends and family.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, January 10 at 8AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville at 9AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, January 9, from 5 through 8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
