WILMINGTON - Katherine “Kay” (Valente) Jamieson, age 89, well known throughout the Tewksbury, Woburn and Wilmington area, died peacefully at her Wilmington Home on Friday Morning, January 2, surrounded by her beloved family. She was the wife for 55 years of Robert W. “Bob” Jamieson.
Kay was born in Wilmington, February 11, 1925, one of five children of the late Angelo and Margaret (Russo) Valente. She was raised in North Woburn, but moved to Wilmington 53 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Dorothy’s Church. She and her sister Vivian, were well known in the Bingo community in Wilmington, Tewksbury and Woburn.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sisters, Helen Margaret Kliest and Vivian Mary O’Mahony both of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews, including Catherine Donnelly of Billerica, Steven Valente of Lowell and her special niece Margaret Valente of Nashua, NH; and many friends throughout the area.
She was predeceased by her brother Steven Valente and her twin sister, Rose Mary Latorelli.
Visiting hours Monday, Jan. 5, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER. Her funeral will begin Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Dorothy’s Church, corner of Harndon and Main Sts. (Rte. 38) Wilmington. Burial will follow in Tewksbury Cemetery.
